Week 1

Introductory Meeting

I had a call with Victoria Anstead, my internship coordinator and founder of TACTICAL AESTHETICS. Our discussion was brief yet informative. I learned a little bit more about what she does as an Art Advisor. I was brought up to speed about a project that she is currently working on and given some resources to dive into to read more about what helps to drive her work.

The project involves sourcing artwork that incorporate mathematical properties found in nature. Therefore, I was tasked with doing background research about how mathematics presents itself in nature, how mathematics and mathematical concepts have presented itself in art, and generate a lit of artists that have incorporated both of these aspects into their works. I took notes on what I came up with and sent them over to Ms. Anstead for her to look over before we meet again the following week.
